It was founded by ex-Googlers and founders of Altavista.
They have 3 times more indexed pages then Big G. It was backed by Venture Capital in two founding rounds. Series A of $5M and series B of $33M. By today, it hasn't been announced share of company investors got for these two rounds.
They vent live on Sunday and have been off-line couple of times, since they have not expected big load. Currently, they index only English words.
Its always nice to see someone new in search market place and lets see how big stake will they get.
