Twitter has surpassed 100m registered user! This is awesome, since I thought that they where somewhere north of 70m. But how much of those users are active ones? It is very important question since it takes time to start gaining value from Twitter, which turns down lots of newly registered users.
Also, Twitter is announcing ad platform. Every twit will have an associated ad, Dick Costolo announced. Twits will have an internal ranking based on 9 factors, but 3 would be RTs , replies and traffic it gets. Basically, depending on how it will resonate. Knowing that 75% of Twitter traffic comes from 3rd party apps, there will be generous revenue sharing with those apps. Finally, most of apps will have revenue instead of hopping that they will be acquired.
